Pet First Aid Kit
January 13th, 2008Many people have a first aid kit in their house or car for themselves but a few different items are needed for your pet. Here are some of things that may be useful:
- List of Emergency Veterinary Contact Numbers - always ring to get advice
- Blanket for use as a stretcher or to keep your pet warm
- Gauze or muzzle. Some animals will bite if the are injured so it may be necessary to muzzle your dog for safety so it can be shifted. Don’t muzzle your dog if it is vomiting
- Penlight
- Towels to control bleeding
- Adhesive tape
- Non-stick bandages or vetwrap
- Instant ice pack
- Tweezers
- Bandage scissors
- Specific medications advised by your vet
